To us South African boertjies, Aylesbury is really creamy ice cream back home... And the only real connection between that and the town we are in, is the icy cold weather... They don't eat Aylesbury Ice Cream in Aylesbury at all...
We arrived late yesterday afternoon for our 3rd gig... to be honest, we were all a bit tired and felt somewhat "spent" but once we hit the venue and started setting up sound the adrenaline kicked in and saw us through...
Our ENSW family got onto skype at their prayer meeting and phoned us and it was a real encouragement to see them all smiling and laughing and praying for us over Skype (TBN Style).
What was probably most significant about being in Aylesbury on World Aids Day (yes, it was World Aids Day yesterday, 1 Dec)... was that this is Tim and Maz's Hometown and church. They were real excited about being here and sharing with their family what we and they do out in SA.
After a coulpe of hours of sorting out sound 'snags' we sat down to pray and we all had the sense that we ought to do some spiritual warfare before taking the stage, as the enemy is trying to upset the night. We had such a great time praying and the words, visions and scriptures God gave us was liberating.
We had to chance our songlist a little as Charl's voice is really sick and sore, but it ended up being for good. God just once again came down in His glory and started touching many peoples lives... We were lingering with the song "Moved by You" and started shared some of the Scriptures and Visions God gave us with the congregation.
Handri saw a picture of the hearts of the people who has 'slots' in them, like Piggy banks, and how God is depositing the things they need or where there's a deficit in their hearts through the slots. We were just all crying out to God for that and people were all responding to that in their own way.
After that I had a real sense of God just wanting to stir a new zeal and passion in the older generation in the building, the seniors amongst us. As if god is encouraging them to realize that the years passed he invested so much in them and that the years ahead he wants to use those investments to leave a legacy in the live of others... It was one of those moments that we were all so touched by God's heart for people that he emotions were overwhelming... We could see how older folk, hands on high, just desired more and more of God and His purposes for their lives, and feeling liberated and encouraged to live their years left for what God has in store for them.
The Hope video really made a massive impact as people could see the faces of the people Tim and Maz works with, and the Walkers did an amazing job in inviting others to join hands with Thembalitsha. The people were really engaging with that and we ended up praying for Tim and Maz at the end of their talk.
After the last few songs there was a HUGE buzz in the building and the thank you's and gestures of gratitude showed again that God has moved in His way and although we felt a bit "spent" and as if we were battling, He did amazing.
People streamed to the table in the back to take leaflets on the Village of Hope, buy cd's and give money, and the Walkers were also really excited that they only knew about 20% of the crowd their, so once again it was new ground that we broke into for Thembaltisha.
This morning we are going back to the Vineyard Church and the Lead Elder there, Mick, will be ministering to us and we will share communion as a team. After that we are off to London today for a "Night of Hope" event in Hammersmith in an OLD Church building hosted by Every Nation London... We will keep you guys posted on the developments for the day...
Please pray for Charl and his voice, and for the rest of us for refreshment and new energy for the last 3 days.
Love
P
